Jake Cuenca shares the story of the passing of his Uncle Manuel “Manoling” Morato, 87, due to COVID-19 to spread enlightenment to people about the importance of vaccination.

On Instagram, Cuenca mourns the untimely passing of his beloved uncle. He said that everything happened so fast and they were shocked about it.

“It’s been a rough couple of days for our family cause it came as such a shock we really thought he would pull through like he always does.”

Cuenca then remembered Morato as a kind person who helped many people including him.

“I just want to say thank you to my tio manoling for helping so many people, countless people throughout the years including myself.”

Morato was the former head of the Movie and TV Review and Classifications Board (MTRCB) and the Philippines Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) board director.

The actor shared this sorrowful experience with the people to remind them about the importance of being vaccinated.

Accordingly, his uncle was not vaccinated so, he died due to complications caused by COVID-19.

My uncle just passed away because of covid and because he didn’t get vaccinated. Believe me when I say it’s rough to lose a loved or someone you’re close to so quickly because of covid. Protect yourself and your loved ones and get vaccinated. https://t.co/rLvVxyd3le

He then expressed the pain of losing a loved one due to COVID-19 so, he advised everyone to get a vaccine to protect themselves and their loved ones.

A recent study from India suggests that COVID-19 vaccines protect a patients’ lungs from the virus.

Dr. Jaimin Trivedi of the University of Louisville in Kentucky said that the results pointed out “the fact that vaccination reduces the severity of the COVID-19 disease even though it may not prevent the infection in some patients.”

As of writing, per data released by “Our World in Data”, there are already 10.3 million vaccinated individuals in the Philippines. That is about 9.5% of the country’s population, however, it is still far from the 75% target to achieve herd immunity.
