On September 6, Dominic Ochoa echoed ABS-CBN heads in entertaining in the Service of the Filipinos during the media conference for Hoy, Love You Season 2.
Ochoa reacted to the ABS-CBN shutdown during the pandemic, noting the Kapamilya bosses’ statement about serving the Filipino.
“We’re super blessed too, despite the pandemic, the situation last year, ‘yung pandemya, yung shutdown, etc, siguro hindi ko rin malilimutan ‘yung sinabi ng mga boss namin from ABS na gusto pa rin nila ipagpatuloy ‘yung ABS-CBN in the service of the Filipino.
“Andoon pa rin ‘yung serbisyo namin na mag-entertain, magbigay ng ligaya. Napaka-importante ng panahon na ito eh na magbigay ng entertainment.”
He pointed out the need for entertainment amid the pandemic crisis that the Filipino audience is currently facing.
“Dahil sa dami ng problema, ang daming nasa paligid natin all negative feed, our social media accounts. Ito ‘yung pagkakataon na maraming salamat sa ABS, maraming salamat sa aming producer for giving us the chance to be part of this show, na nagse-season 2 pa.
“So ang laking bagay na magiging parte kami ng kahit papaano, makapagbigay ligaya sa ating mga manonood. Kasi ito ‘yung kailangan natin eh, hindi ‘yung negative vibe na napapanood natin sa telebisyon. Kailangan natin ng inspirasyon lalong lalo na sa panahon ngayon.”
He also shared the Hoy Love You Two’s meaning, noting that it reminds people to love each other amid the pandemic.
“Hindi siya matamis na salita. Hindi ko siya madalas sabihin but for us to say regularly, ‘hoy mahal ko kayo, hoy love you.’
“We have to love each other, mahal ko kayong lahat. Dahin hindi tayo dapat magalit, hindi tayo dapat maging maasim ang mga sinasabi natin. Dapat magmahalan tayo. That’s the whole meaning of this show.”
Hoy Love You Two is under the direction of Theodore Boborol and Produced by Linggit Tan-Marasigan. The second season of the Kapamilya teleserye stars Joross Gamboa and Roxanne Guinoo-Yap and it premieres on September 11 via the iWant TFC app. Its season one finale is currently airing on Kapamilya Channel, A2Z Channel 11, and Kapamilya Online Live.
