On September 22, actor Zanjoe Marudo reacted to Lovi Poe’s Kapamilya transfer during the media conference for his 15th anniversary in showbiz.

Marudo said he felt excited for Poe while recalling their movie, ‘Malaya.’

“Well, parehas kami. Ganon din ‘yung pakiramdam ko. Masaya ako na nasa Kapamilya network na siya. Syempre na-excite din ako noong finally ni-launch na siya as a Kapamilya dahil ayaw kong maging first and last namin ‘yung Malaya na project.”

He added that he wants to work with Poe again, especially now that she’s a Kapamilya.

“Parang nabitin pa ko doon dahil ten days lang namin siya ginawa. And, mas gusto ko pa siya makatrabaho sa ibang klaseng istorya naman or ibang genre naman. And, ‘yun parang mas okay na, mas malaki na ‘yung tsansa na magkatrabaho kami ulit ni Lovi.”

Earlier, Poe included Marudo in the list of Kapamilya actors she wanted to work with in the future.

“Of course, Mr. Coco Martin, Gerald (Anderson), Zanjoe (Marudo) again—I’ve worked with Zanjoe before—and JM de Guzman. I’ve worked with Carlo Aquino, and I would love to work with him again as well. Ang dami, eh. There’s just to many to mention na gusto kong makatrabaho.”

Marudo responded to Poe’s declaration during her Kapamilya launch press conference.

“And, thank you, thank you Lovi, dahil gusto mo pa ako ulit makatrabaho. And, masaya ako doon dahil gusto pa rin kita makatrabaho.”

Marudo and Poe worked in the movie ‘Malaya’ wherein the two received Best Actor and Best Actress Nominations in the 44th Gawad Urian Awards.

Marudo also revealed that he almost backed out of Malaya because he had trouble with some of his lines.

“Malaya, muntik kong ayawan ‘yun. Kasi parang nahihirapan ako sa Italian lines. Hindi ko alam kung paano ko siya pag-aaralan. Pero pikit mata, inaral ko, ayun na-nominate ako sa Urian.”

As for his career, Marudo was the 4th Big Placer in Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition Season 1. In addition, he worked on Kapamilya teleseryes such as Dyosa and Dream Dad.

Aside from his Best Actor Nomination in Gawad Urian, he received an International Emmys nomination for the Maalaala Mo Kaya episode titled Anino in 2017.

In celebration of his 15 anniversary in showbiz, the Kapamilya network made a documentary for Marudo titled, ‘Hanep, Kinse na pala! Zanjoe’s 15 years in showbiz.’ The documentary premieres on September 26, 12nn on Star Magic’s YouTube channel.
