The Clash Season 4 judges Ai-Ai delas Alas, Lani Misalucha, and Christian Bautista shared their respective thoughts on Tuesday, September 28, about the qualities they’re looking for in the show’s next grand champion.
Ai-Ai said she was looking for a contestant who has no attitude and has the ability to cater to all kinds of audiences.
“Kailangan na meron s’yang unique style that will cater and capture all kinds of audiences. Buko do’n, without an attitude,” she said.
Lani admitted she was searching for a participant that is ‘total package’.
“Not only having that great talent but also yung talagang ang pagpe-perform n’ya ay matindi, at tsaka matindi, at tsaka may personality, at tsaka charming, and sana rin mabait s’ya,” described the Asia’s Nightingale.
However, Lani admitted that the qualities she was looking for could be difficult to find given that “not everyone can have it all.”
But sana, mayroon no’n.”
Meanwhile, Christian on the other hand wants the next grand champion to be full of determination and oozing with potential.
Ai-Ai also stressed the importance of the saying “always keep your feet on the ground.”
“Eh kasi malaking bagay yun eh. Kasi ‘di ba? Kunyari magaling nga ‘tong taong ‘to, magaling, mahusay, maganda, lahat na nasa kanya.
“Kaso, walang gustong makatrabaho sa kanya. Pa’no yun? Kasi nga may attitude ang lolo o lola mo. Kumbaga bakulaw na agad ang ugali.”
She pointed the reality that a person with an attitude will not remain long in the industry.
So dapat angel ang makakatrabaho mo muna ‘di ba? Saka na s’ya mag-bakulaw kapag naka-enter na s’ya ng bonggang-bongga.”
Although, the comedienne admitted that there is a “license” to have a little bit of attitude if they are already in the industry for quite some time.
‘Di ba may gano’n?
She also advised aspiring clashers to look back before all the fame and fortune swallow them.
The Clashmasters, or the show’s hosts, Julie Anne San Jose, Rita Daniela, Ken Chan, and Rayver Cruz, also gave aspiring grand champions their respective advice.
Julie emphasized that having a good attitude would result in a longer stay in the showbiz industry. She advised contestants and future winners to always be kind.
Kasi kumbaga respect din ‘yon sa time and space ng mga tao sa paligid mo eh.
“Always be the bigger person, always be kind. Kasi you may never know ano ang pinagdadaanan ng mga tao sa paligid mo,” she advised.
Rita imparted that winners should not be afraid to share their knowledge and the things they’ve learned throughout their journey.
“‘Wag kang matakot mag-share.
Ken focused on the purpose of artists—to provide entertainment and joy to the viewers.
He advised:
Rayver emphasized humility as a key factor of being a successful artist.
“Importante siguro do’n na marunong kang mag-sorry and marunong kang itama ang mga pagkakamali mo.
“Kasi sa work naman natin, well, life in general, if masipag ka, marunong kang makisama, and despite sa mga success na nakakamit mo, kung palagi ka lang humble, malayo talaga ang mararating mo lalo na sa work natin.
“Nakikita kasi ng mga katrabaho mo ‘yan and ‘yang kapwa mo tao or artista. Kapag mabuti kang katrabaho, palagi kang may trabaho, sigurado ‘yan.”
