Kapuso dramatic actor Jeric Gonzales and Soul Balladeer Garrett Bolden emerged triumphant at the Philippine Movie Press Club’s (PMPC) 12th Star Awards for Music during its virtual awarding last October 10.
Jeric was named ‘Male Acoustic Artist of the Year’ for his single “Taksil” under GMA Music. He also received a Plaque of Appreciation for supporting PMPC’s Awit ng Pandemya benefit concert.
“Dreams do come true. Maraming salamat PMPC sa award na ‘to. Pangarap ko talaga ‘to, bata pa lang kumakanta at tumutugtog na ako so maraming salamat sa pagtupad nito, mabuhay kayo! Maraming salamat my GMA Music family sa opportunity na binigay ninyo sa akin, to my GMA Artist Center family, and to GMA Network, and to everyone who never stops supporting me. ‘Til the next song!,” he says.
Garrett, on the other hand, won ‘Male Pop Artist of the Year’ for his song “Handa Na Maghintay.”
“This is my second PMPC trophy. Thank you so much po sa bumubuo ng PMPC Star Awards for Music and sa Philippine Movie Press Club. I will make sure to bring back this love and recognition by making more good music and performances to all my supporters. Sabi nga sa kanta ko, ‘Handa na Maghintay lagi sa’yo, gaano man katagal, magtitiis ako,’ and I will not stop reaching my dreams hangga’t may mga taong nakaka-appreciate sa musika ko,” says Garrett.
Along with Jeric, Plaques of Appreciation were also given to Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards and Asia’s Romantic Balladeer Christian Bautista for their selfless participation in the PMPC benefit concert “Awit sa Pandemya.”
Kapuso actor Alfred Vargas was also honored because of his support to the event.
