Apart from the ‘kilig’ moments that the Kokoy De Santos and Elijah Canlas’ tandem provide in the BL story–Gameboys, another couple have earned attention from fans, and that’s the one with Miggy Jimenez and Kyle Velino.
The chemistry between the two as they exchange banters in the film gave them the extra exposure or limelight and piqued the viewers’ interest, especially the target market–the LGBTQ+ community.
Jimenez admitted that he struggled at times. He and his partner, Velino are both new to such roles. However, being real-life roommates with the latter during the project helped them “build the relationship”, which eventually made it easier for them to work, gradually.
“Habang nagsu-shoot kami n’on, super awkward pa namin wala pa kaming formal conversation,” Miggy said that they were not aware at first that they were to join a same-sex romance series.
“Hindi namin ini-expect na hahatakin-interesado pala yung fans.”
As they have more time to talk about the improvements they needed to exert. The efforts they put in became evident in their approach to their respective characters and the make-believe blossoming relationship in the story.
“Maybe gawin namin siguro sa ibabaw ng ref,” Miggy responded to one intriguing question in an interview with RAWR nation when asked how will he surpass the love scenes of “EliKoy” (Kokoy De Santos-Elijah Canlas) if given the chance.
He said he’s willing to put his trust in the co-star.
At first, it was a bit overwhelming, but to assume such a role was an honor and a great experience he’d gladly do it again.
“Game na game ako jan…. I wouldn’t say no, yes agad ako,” he quipped.
For him, he is very much open to doing another BL project with Velino again.
He said he wanted to explore and try something different, fans were overjoyed upon hearing Jimenez’s willingness to do another BL project.
