All eyes are now on Pinoy Big Brother Kumunity Season 10 housemate Eian Rances on Tuesday, December 7, following his rude behavior toward Alexa Ilacad.
Many netizens raised the question of Rances’s sexuality as gay when an issue between him and Ilacad went viral.

Their frustration even urged them to have Rances come out of the closet.

Some, however, were irritated by his gestures leading to the conclusion that he is indeed gay.
A netizen wanted Ilacad to stay away from Rances after the confrontation that left her hurt and offended.

There was even a poll on twitter asking about the real gender of Rances. Many voted that his identity should be left in private.

Rances in a previous interview for his role in the BL series Pa-Mine Pare confirmed that he is straight.
“Ako po naman yes, at the end of the day, alam ko namang straight ako and walang discrimination towards LGBTQ. Kasi madami tayong kaibigan na andiyan, nasa paligid lang. Sobrang laki nang ambag nila sa industriya na ginagalawan natin. So walang discrimination, walang anything wrong about them.”
Rances, however, has experience getting courted by members of the LGBTQIA+ community but clarified that he rejected their offers in a nice way.
“May experience po pero s’yempre parang hindi mo naman siya mare-reject like harapan. Siguro idadaan mo siya sa magandang usapan. Like ipapa-realize mo sa kanya na mas pipiliin natin yung relationship na mas tama sa atin, mas magtatagal tayo. Kesa ipilit natin sa isang bagay na hindi talaga meant to be. Tamang pakikipag-usap lang siguro.”
Where it all began.
The issue regarding his gender stemmed after he became unruly toward Ilacad whom he believed was using him to create a love team and garner more fans.
It all started when Rances became “offended” by Ilacad’s “aggressiveness.”
“Gusto ko ako iyong naghahanap sa kanya, gusto ko ako iyong naghahabol,” said Rances while talking with Madam Inutz, Brenda Mage, and Alyssa Valdez.
He then confronted Ilacad on November 11 and asked her to allow him to be the first to make a move.
They seemed to have solved the issue on November 20 as Ilacad and Rances talked about personal things over a bowl of ice cream by the poolside.
But during their weekly task last week, Rances lashed out at Ilacad who was trying to comfort him.
He rudely rejected Ilacad’s offer of comfort.
At their catch-up party, Rances and Ilacad had a chance to talk about the issue where the former blamed it all on the latter’s “wrong timing.”
“Kasi nasa perfect timing sila mag-comfort and ayoko noong kino-comfort ako na para akong ginagawang bata and ayoko noong paulit-ulit ka,” Rances, pointing to the other housemates.
Ilacad was just trying to check on him but Rances, who was obviously annoyed, finally confessed what is wrong.
“Sabi ko, hindi talaga, hindi talaga match iyong personality mo sa personality ko. Kaya ko sinasabing ang off ng timing, ang off ng ano kaya parang lahat ng pasok mo, off.
“Hindi ko na alam kung ano iyong totoo. Hindi ko alam bakit nararamdaman ko ito sa iyo. Hindi ko alam kung kailan ka totoo, hindi ko alam kung kailan iyong hindi ka totoo.”
Ilacad was shocked that Rances would accuse her of using him as she replied, “Tingin mo gumagawa ako ng love team, ganoon?”
It can be recalled that fans have seen chemistry in them and were trying to ship them as AlEian.
Rances then replied, “Siguro, hindi ko rin alam.”
It really surprised Ilacad.
“Oh my God! So, do you think ginagamit lang kita? Para magka-love team or something?” Ilacad gasped in disbelief.
Rances immediately apologized to Ilacad as he answered, “Wala naman akong sinabing ganung word. Wala akong word na sinabing ganoon. Sorry kung sinabi ko sa iyo iyong nararamdaman ko.”
Ilacad responded that it was “okay” and wanted to keep the conversation going. But Rances had other plans as he rudely walked out of the conversation.
“Sandali, sandali. Oh my God, ang bastos kausap,” reacted Ilacad.
The confrontation between Ilacad and Rances went viral and the former received sympathy from fellow celebrities and personalities.
