On January 19, Kapamilya artist-singer Alexa Ilacad shared her thoughts on artists transferring to other networks.
During the media conference for her newest single, Paano, Ilacad said she understands the artists who chose to transfer networks because of their need for income during the pandemic.
“For all the artists na lumipat, I really understand where they’re coming from din naman because, of course, especially ngayong pandemic, we need work. So I understand where they’re coming from.
“And I’m sure lahat naman nang umalis ay nagpaalam ng maayos, nag-separate naman ng mabuti and no bad blood naman I hope.”
She clarified that she has no plans of leaving ABS-CBN since she has a steady stream of projects with the network.
“For me naman, I never thought of leaving po, because I’m greatful na never ako nawalan ng project under ABS. Patuloy lang po ako nagtratrabaho and I’m really thankful for that. So the thought never entered my mind.”
Ilacad is one of the Kapamilya stars who remained with the network following its shut down in ABS-CBN in 2020 after Congress denied their franchise renewal.
Ilacad started her career in the child-oriented gag show, Goin Bulilit (2008-2013). She then worked on Kapamilya projects such as May Bukas Pa, Nasaan Ka Elisa, Luv U, The Killer Bride, and Maalaala Mo Kaya. She recently joined Pinoy Big Brother Kumunity Season 10 as a celebrity housemate.
As for her latest single under the music label Off The Record, ‘Paano’ drops on Spotify, Apple Music, and all digital streaming platforms this Friday, January 21, 2022.
