Netizens have noticed that Maxene Magalona dropped the Mananquil surname from her last name on her Instagram profile.
They have also observed that Mananquil is no longer on Magalona’s following list.
On December 31, via a lengthy post on Instagram, Magalona addressed the curious people about her personal life.
“I’ve been receiving A LOOOT of questions about my personal life, so I would just like to share a few things which I believe we can all learn from.
“It is not polite to ask people about their personal lives, especially when you don’t know them personally. And even if you DO know them, you should give them space and wait for them to open up to you instead of prying and wanting to invade their privacy.
“We all have the right to choose when and who we will share our stories with.
“Social media should be a safe space where we can all express ourselves healthily and authentically, choosing only what we want to share.
“If you’re wondering why I am happy and at peace, it’s because I strengthen my connection to God every day. I even sing to Him when I’m overflowing with gratitude,” Magalona stated.

In January 2018, Magalona and Rob Mananquil tied the knot via a back-to-back church and beach wedding ceremony.
In March 2021, Magalona went back to Manila alone after living with her husband in Bali for more than a year.
