Three of the biggest Kapuso stars, Julie Anne San Jose, Xian Lim, and Jessica Villarubin, expressed their gratitude that they will be performing in the Dubai Expo Thursday, March 24.
They are part of GMA Pinoy TV’s concert “Stronger Together: GMA Pinoy TV at Expo 2020 Dubai.”
In the event’s virtual media conference, San Jose said that this would be the first international event that they will be doing two years after the Covid-19 pandemic.
“First time for everyone, actually. There has been a lot of challenges na pinagdaanan natin for the past two years. But we’re all very very thankful for this opportunity. Kasi napakalaking event din nitong Dubai Expo,” expressed the Asia’s Limitless Star.
She added, “Ayun, sobrang excited talaga kasi ang tagal naming hindi nakapag-travel, ang tagal naming hindi nakapag-live event. So I think yun ang isa talaga sa mga na-miss ng mga tao—yung live shows, live events. So that’s why we’re very thankful, of course, sa GMA Pinoy TV for bringing us there”
Lim was also happy to be part of the upcoming event, given that he just became a Kapuso in 2021.
“Lagi ko na lang sinasabi napakasaya ko, napaka-excited ko. Pero no’ng malaman ko na I was gonna be part of Dubai Expo, sabi ko, ‘Wow! Thank you talaga!’ Laking pasasalamat ko talaga sa GMA Pinoy TV,” the actor thanked.
Villarubin, the Grand Champion of The Clash Season 3, was shocked after knowing that she would be part of the concert.
“Ang alam ko lang, I’m super grateful talaga na naging part ako ng big event na ‘to, and we’re very excited nga sabi ni Ate Julie. Kasi may audience. So we’re very excited na ma-meet yung mga Kapuso natin abroad, yung mga relatives namin kuno, hahaha.
“Nagpapasalamat po ako na naging parte ako nito and we make sure that we’ll do our best para sa mga kababayan d’yan,” said the singer.
Meanwhile, GMA Network’s Vice President and Head of Operations, Joseph Francia, explained “perfect timing” for the three stars given their schedules.
“These three are our best stars, biglang may window of opportunity, they will make it, on the exact schedule that the Expo and the DTI were able to put together for us in time for the closing of the expo.”
Furthermore, San Jose, Lim, and Villarubin were suitable to showcase the concert’s theme, “stronger together.”
“The timing is perfect for the three of them, and they represent a lot of the values that we want to impart,” added Francia.
What the “Stronger Together: GMA Pinoy TV at Expo 2020 Dubai” concert means.
Francia shared the reason why GMA Pinoy TV decided to conduct the concert. He said that it is to honor the United Arab of Emirates’ government as well as the Filipino community in said country.
“To me, it’s honoring the efforts, the valiant efforts of the UAE Government in making sure na mairaos ito. Pangalawa, yung pagtutulungan ng Filipino community and the Government, and private sectors, and various groups to ensure na successful ang ating participation sa isang global event na ganito. Hindi araw-araw nangyayari iyan.
“Tapos, we want to honor the participation of the huge Filipino community in the UAE in ensuring the success of the expo. Tapos ‘stronger together’ means showcasing the talents of three of our best stars of GMA.”
They were also hoping to entice foreigners with performances from San Jose, Lim, and Villarubin.
“We hope to get the attention also of the non-Pinoys. I’m sure kapag narinig nila ang mga kantahan, I hope they pay attention and stay.”
The concert will commence on March 30 to be held at the Dubai Millennium Amphitheatre, Dubai Expo Grounds. Doors open at 8 PM and the show starts at 9 PM.
