On Wednesday, April 13, content creator Christ Tan shared an interesting take on why Vice President Leni Robredo is the best choice to become the next Philippine President.
On his YouTube vlog titled, Bakit Ka Galit?–Tan likened the five candidates to those five remaining individuals who got chosen to assume the position of airplane captain.
“Yung limang ‘yon, dalawa pasahero, yung tatlo cabin crew na. Ok pag-usapan muna natin ang mga pasahero. Kayo ba iboboto ba niyo ang pasahero para magpalipad ng eroplano at maging piloto natin? Hindi ‘di ba?”
The two passengers have no experience at all, Tan presented. One came from the economy class and upgraded into first-class through hard work, while the other never experienced the hardships in life.
Tan stated that the only option to become a pilot was the three cabin crew. Among the three, one is an air marshall, the other a cabin crew, and the last candidate is a co-pilot.
“Kaya ko medyo concern, o sabihin mo nang galit, kasi ganito yan. Lahat tayo, magkakasama sa eroplano. Tapos marami akong naririnig na gusto nilang magpalipad ng eroplano ay yung nasa first-class na pasahero. ‘Pag bumagsak ang eroplano, damay tayong lahat,” explained Tan.
He then revealed that the two first-class passengers were the presidential candidates–Manny Pacquiao and Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. Sen. Ping Lacson was the air marshall, Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso was the flight steward, and Robredo is the co-pilot.
“Tapos ‘pag tinanong ko sila ‘bakit gusto niyo ung first-class magpalipad ng eroplano natin?’ Ang sagot sa ‘kin ‘respect my opinion nalang.’
“Hindi p’wedeng respect my opinion. Kailangan sabihn nyo sa akin bakit tingin niyo may kakayahan na ‘tong pasahero na nasa first-class na magpalipad ng ating eroplano, dahil damay tayong lahat.
“May iba naman sinagot sa akin, eh magaling yung tatay niya na piloto kaya siya rin magiging magaling na piloto. Pakinggan nyo yung sinasabi nyo, it doesn’t make sense. No.1, no. 2, yung tatay niya ‘di naman talaga magaling na piloto dahil eventually, bumagsak iyong ‘eroplano’ na tawag natin na Pilipinas noong panahon ng tatay niya.
“Kung pwede lang sana na bumoto yung first-class ang magpalipad ng eroplano, kayo-kayo ang magsama-sama at kayo ang bumagsak.
“‘Pag bumagsak ang eroplano nyo hindi ako kasama, walang problema,” he pointed out.
He added, “Pero ang problema, magkakasama tayong lahat dito. Kaya dapat, kung pumili tayong tama, kung sino ang dapat magpalipad ng eroplanong ito, kung sino dapat ang maging piloto. Eh sa akin simple lang sagot eh, siyempre pipiliin ko yung may experience at may education para magpalipad ng eroplano at para maging piloto at iyon ang co-pilot.
“Alam naman natin kung sino sinasabi ko eh.”
Tan then explained why he chose to support Robredo as the next president.
“Kaya pinili ko si Leni di dahil panatiko ko kay Leni pinili ko lang dahil iyan ang nagme-make sense. Ang isang tao na may kakayahan, may abilidad, may utak, at may puso, may pake para sa mga pasahero. Iyon lang. Basic.”
The content creator then encouraged Filipinos to vote wisely.
“Kaya please lang, bumoto na tayo ng tama dahil hindi lang kayo madadamay kundi lahat tayo madadamay.”
Tan’s argument was received well by many. It seemed to be a more reasonable, practical scenario.
