Controversial TV host-actress-turned-vlogger Toni Gonzaga is again at the center of hullabaloo on social media following her statement at the UniTeam rally on April 18.

Toni got another round of online tongue lashing from the netizens following her recent comment regarding the Marcoses’ return to Malacañang.

During her recent hosting gig at the UniTeam rally in Cebu, she proudly declared that Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is just a beat away from returning to his previous home, the Malacañan Palace.

The Marcoses stayed at the Malacañan Palance for more than 20 years when the late Ferdinand Marcos Sr’s reign as a dictator.

Due to the bloodless uprising in 1986 (known to the world as the EDSA People Power Revolution)–the Marcoses got booted out from the palace. They got ere exiled to Hawaii until 1991.

Gonzaga’s statement quickly earned the ire of netizens and social media personalities who slammed her misguided remarks.

Kristoffer Pasion in his tweet, reminded her of late Pres. Ramon Magsaysay’s description of Malacañang as the “Palace of the People.”

Netizen @imerik_martinez, on the other hand, quipped on Gonzaga, saying before she dreamt of seeing her godfather back to Malacañang, she should encourage him first to visit the BIR.

The Marcos family has yet to settle their estate tax amounting to more than 203 billion pesos.

Okay?”

@ricci_richy blasted her saying Malacañang is not a property of the Marcoses and that they can just choose to go back whenever they want.

“To Toni Gonzaga, Stop. #NeverAgain #NeverForget”

Netizen @ericmoral also called out the former PBB host for treating Malacañang as a birthright and not a working place for public service.

“To call Malacañang a home instead of an office shows the mindset of a birthright instead government work and public service.”

Former IATF adviser Dr. Tony Leachon meanwhile joked about Gonzaga’s likening of Malacañang to the Pinoy Big Brother House.

Here are other comments from the netizens regarding Gonzaga’s recent infamous statement.
