Controversial content creator Darryl Yap on Tuesday, June 21 clapped back at his haters who ridiculed the casting of his latest project Maid in Malacañang.

Yap shared on his social media accounts that the cast members who will portray the Marcoses during EDSA 1 have already been selected.

However, it received heavy criticism.

Cristine Reyes, who will portray Senator Imee Marcos was ridiculed by netizens, claiming that the actress is not best suited to play the role due to her facial features.

Some even suggested that either Ai-Ai delas Alas or Julianna Parizcova Segovia could play the older sister of president-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

Yap, in a facebook post, retaliated to his bashers that if outgoing Vice President Leni Robredo, they could write their narrative. Unfortunately, Marcos Jr won the May elections with 31 million votes.

“Kung nanalo sana kayo, gawa kayo ng pelikula tungkol sa kandidato n’yo, doon kayo magdesisyon ng casting…Eh kaso natalo nga si Leni, paanong gagawin natin? Ipagsisiksikan n’yo na lang yung talunan n’yong opinyon sa pelikula ng nanalo? Ganyan na kalungkot ang buhay n’yo? HAHAHAHAHAHA!””

For the remaining cast members, Cesar Montano was chosen to play Ferdinand Marcos Sr., with Ruffa Gutierrez as Imelda Marcos.

Diego Loyzaga, on the other hand, landed the role of the young Bongbong, while Ella Cruz plays Irene Marcos.

Karla Estrada, Elizabeth Oropesa, and Beverly Salviejo were also included in the mix as housemaids of the Marcoses.

In the meantime, the film’s official trailer will be released on July 7, at 7 p.m.
