Model-turned-actor Kirst Viray on Wednesday, June 1, revealed that he would be looking forward to more acting projects after signing with GMA Network’s Sparkle Artist Center.
The 30-year-old model already had a short stint in Bolera, the newest teleserye of GMA Network, where he played the young Joey Marquez.
“Speaking po doon, mas gusto ko ‘yung mga character role po. So ‘yung mga mabibigat na role ang mga gusto kong gampanan ngayon,” he said during the post-signing virtual media conference.
Viray also added that he aspires to land a lead role in the future. But with whatever GMA Network gives him, he will accept it.
“Pero kung may chance naman sa pagiging bida, siyempre naman lahat gustong maging bida, so lahat po iyon eh i-accept ko, kung ano po ang ibigay ng GMA para sa akin.”
The model, who’s very keen on his body, revealed that he is ready to join the list of Kapuso hunks.
“Yes po. Handang-handa po ako. Kaya lagi dapat physically fit. Kasi siyempre ang dami natin sa industry so kailangan laging ready. So kailangan hindi magpabaya sa katawan,” he explained.
In terms of Boy’s Love (BL) genre, Viray admitted that he is open to doing it as long as there is a “go signal” from his management.
“Ako naman, okay lang sa akin basta approve kay GMA, sa Sparkle. So ako, willing lahat basta part ng work, work siya. So go lang po ako.”
Meanwhile, as an up-and-coming artist, he hopes to become the leading man of Kapuso star Sanya Lopez. He, however, denied having a crush on her but more of “appreciation.”
“Gusto ko pong maka-partner si Sanya Lopez,” he hoped. “Siguro po nagagandahan ako sa kanya.”
Aside from Viray, Katrina Chavez, Lexi Gonzales, Rabiya Mateo, Zonia Mejia, Nikki Co, Radson Flores, Jeric Gonzales, and Anthony Rosaldo also signed contracts with Sparkle Artist Center.
