Ben&Ben singer Paolo Benjamin made the rounds online after he praised GMA network’s newest fantasy-portal series Maria Clara at Ibarra, which was based on José Rizal’s two novels: Noli Me Tángere and El Filibusterismo.
It stars Barbie Forteza, Julie Anne San Jose, and Dennis Trillo.
In a tweet on October 12, Benjamin said that the Kapuso series is a great show.

Even Carla Abellana praised the series, especially her former co-star Dennis Trillo.
On October 10, Trillo posted a teaser for Maria Clara at Ibarra’s new episode. In the comment section, Abellana congratulated Trillo for his portrayal of Crisostomo Ibarra.

Moreover, Director Darryl Yap also praised the Kapuso series on October 6. He said that the story of the series flows smoothly.
Maria Clara at Ibarra aired its pilot episode on October 3, which was well-received by viewers as it gained a 15.1% rating on NUTAM People Ratings.
In the latest rating report from Nielsen Philippines NUTAM People’s survey on Monday, October 10, MCI maintained its number two position in the rating board with a rating score of 14.5% beating its rival program Darna with a 7.0% rating.
