The seasoned and award-winning TV host and talent manager hinted that negotiation was previously ongoing between his camp and GMA Network for a possible network transfer.

Several reports suggested that long-time Kapamilya TV host, and the so-called King of Talk Boy Abunda, decided to move forward with initial plan of switching networks from ABS-CBN to GMA Network.

The rumor of Abunda’s transfer became the subject of various speculations for quite a while. Since he remained project-less after his home network was denied by Congress with a new legislative franchise, pushing the station to go off the air.

In August this year, he revealed that his camp got talks with the bosses of GMA Network for a possible transfer.

“Anything is possible. Kung magugustuhan nila ako. Hindi! May mga pag-uusap. May mga pag-uusap, hindi lamang sa Channel 7 (I might transfer, if they like me. There are negotiations but not just with GMA Network),” he revealed in an interview.

He also denied reports about him inking a contract with Villar’s new TV network, AMBS, and its TV channel, ALLTV.

“Ay! Wala akong offer from… ahh… from the Villar group? Wala. I have had no conversations with them.

“(That’s not true. I haven’t received any offer from the Villar group),” he clarified.

There are no words yet from Abunda’s camp that he is no longer pursuing a network transfer. Reports suggested that ABS-CBN made a counter offer, which made him back down from moving to GMA Network this year.

Based on his previous statements, his return to television is [surely] happening within the year. In a little over two months before the year ends, it seemed that Abunda’s most-awaited TV comeback is just around the corner.
