Kapuso’s newest primetime series Maria Clara at Ibarra started on the right foot as it wins televiewers and social media trends.
The historical fantasy series dominated its timeslot on its pilot episode beating rival program Darna.
Based on the rating report from Nielsen NUTAM People’s survey, Maria Clara at Ibarra scored 15.1% on Monday, October 3 beating Darna by 8% at 7.1%.
On the following day, Tuesday, October 4, Maria Clara at Ibarra’s rating even moved higher to 15.4% overpowering Darna’s 6.4% rating.
Aside from TV ratings win, the Kapuso drama series was also warmly welcomed by the netizens.
Netizens praised the series for its good storyline which tackles several relevant issues today. The show was also commended for its superb cinematography and on-point acting from its high-caliber cast.

Maria Clara at Ibarra is top billed by Kapuso prime stars Dennis Trillo, Julie Anne San Jose and Barbie Forteza.
It follows the story of Klay (played by Barbie), a Gen Z nursing student who wakes up and finds herself teleported in the world of Jose Rizal’s novels Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo.
Forteza’s character, is also described as someone who doesn’t care about politics and the current events in the Philippines.
Maria Clara at Ibarra replaces another Kapuso top-rater Lolong, which went into a season break.
