At the media conference for Call Me PAPi, which LionhearTV covered on November 20, Viva artist Lharby Policarpio revealed that he always calls those closest to him Papi.
Policarpio explained, “Ako based on my experience, I call my friends Papi…it’s a parang natural na lumalabas sa boses, sa bibig ko na kapag tinatawag ko ‘yung friends ko, Papi or Paps.”
He then related his personal life to his character in the upcoming Viva films movie.
“And feeling ko, hindi naman lahat. Most of my closest friends na I feel safe, I could trust, and I think feeling ko, sa amin kaya ganon ‘yung tawagan namin na Papi dito, it’s because nakatira kami sa isang bahay and of course, we care for each other, we look out for each other, to our problems. And then we love each other, basically. And ganon din ako sa daily life ko.”
Policarpio shared, “As in very caring ako sa friends ko, sa family ko, and basically all the people around me, as in grabe ako mag-care sa kanila, na feeling ko very much the same dito sa ginagampanan kong role dito sa Call me PAPi. Ganon ako dito.”
As for their movie, he recalled the cast’s conversations about the delays they experienced with Call me PAPi’s production. He narrated, “Dumating na nga sa point na nagkikita na kami sa labas tapos parang kapag nag-uusap kami, parang reunion kami na, ‘Uy, tuloy pa ba?’ Kasi all of us aren’t sure because of the changes ng restrictions ng COVID-19 before.”
