On December 22, director Lino Cayetano affirmed his hopes of working with Kapuso stars from Starstruck Season One.
At a dinner interview with Nanahimik ang Gabi creatives, Cayetano said it has always been a dream of his to work with the stars from GMA Network’s reality competition, Starstruck.
“Sana sa 2023, kakatok ako sa mga dati kong kasamahan sa Starstruck so it’s always been a dream of mine to work with them. ‘Yung mga actors natin sa Starstruck. Mula si Mark–Mark Herras, mula sa pagpila niyan sa mall, nag-audition no, from Nadine [Samonte], from Dion [Ignacio], to Sheena [Halili,] Jennylyn [Mercado], Rainier [Castillo], Katrina Halili, Cristine [Reyes], Christian [Esteban], Jade [Lopez].”
He then discussed how special Starstruck season was for GMA Network.
“‘Yung Starstruck One napaka-special kasi may void ‘yung talent noon eh, so parang lahat sila nabigyan ng proyekto bigla ng GMA [Network]. So ako, I can’t wait to work with doon sa mga kasamahan ko sa Starstruck One.”
He recounted his days in Starstruck Season One in 2004 and how proud he was of the Kapuso stars that started with the Kapuso reality TV show.
“Noong nagsisimula ako sa showbiz at 24 years old, sa Starstruck, napagalitan ako pag pangit ang episode. Kasi, I started with Starstruck One– 2004.
“Sobrang nakaka-proud.”
He then explained why he could not work with Starstruck talents he helped grow.
“Na ano kasi ako sa ABS-CBN for the next fifteen years eh. Ngayon, ‘yun ‘yung isa kong gustong gawin. Lahat sila Cristine Reyes, came from Starstruck One, sila Nadine [Samonte], Jennylyn [Mercado].
“After ko umalis kasi ng GMA Network for the next 15 years nasa ABS ako.”
As for their upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival 2022 entry, Nanahamik ang Gabi stars Ian Veneracion, Heaven Peralejo, and Mon Confiado.
