At the media conference for Organized Chicas’ newest line on December 16, Kapamilya actress Shaina Magdayao highlighted why she couldn’t abandon ABS-CBN during its lowest point.
Magdayao cited how their toughest challenges during the pandemic and ABS-CBN’s shutdown brought the media company together as a family.
The actress expressed, “And these are the people na kasama ko sa karera ko, so it’s never easy to leave them just like that. And then especially during the pandemic, na alam naman natin, na mahirap na naranasan ng tao and idagdag ninyo pa ‘yung nangyari sa ating station, sa ABS-CBN. Parang ano ba ang Kapamilya?”
Magdayao added, “Ako kasi, parang doon lumabas ‘yung pagiging isang pamilya talaga, for me, doon ko naramdaman na you know, at the lowest point of my mother network’s point siguro sa kinahaba-haba ng itinakbo ng ABS-CBN. Hindi ko sila kayang iwan during that time.”
She then noted how loyalty runs both ways for her and ABS-CBN. She considers it like a relationship, as Star Magic has been loyal to her for 25 years she is loyal to it as well.
She pointed out that she couldn’t just leave the TV company or the people she worked with throughout the years. Her decision to stay with the network was her way of showing her appreciation for ABS-CBN.
Magdayao reiterated, “Kaya nga sabi ko, kung nagkulang man ako in anyway, to express my gratitude and my loyalty to the network, itong parte ng buhay ko at itong season na ‘to ibinigay ko sa kanila, is already my testament and my way of telling them how much I’m grateful for all their love and the opportunities na binigay nila sa akin all through out the years.”
Magdayao and her business partner Niki Medina launched their more adventurous and fun collection for Organized Chicas with the Colore Collection. This includes locally sourced and made bags in tones of white, black, and army green.
Shaina Magdayao founded the lifestyle business Organized Chicas, which mostly sold white canvas totes, bags, and organizers.
