The Kapamilya actor gave props to The Iron Heart lead star, describing him as an actor who is easy to work with.
While a new alliance has just been made between their characters in the sensational Kapamilya action-drama series, Jake Cuenca and Richard Gutierrrez have long started getting along fine and are [actually] now good friends in showbiz and real life.
First to work together via the Kapuso teen-oriented show Click in the early 2000s, Cuenca and Gutierrez are both unstoppable in showcasing their sleek and sharp action star moves in the top-rating Kapamilya series.
During our set visit in Cebu where all of the scenes of the show are being filmed, on February 7, the Kapamilya actor expressed his excitement and awe at working alongside Gutierrez.
“Grateful, to be honest talagang, I’m just happy to be able to it with him,” he said when asked how he felt about his trending action scenes with Gutierrez.
Like his co-star, Cuenca is no stranger to action, as he headlined ABS-CBN’s Palos, way back in 2008.
“The first time I did action with Palos, I was still very young; I was 19 years old,” he recalled.
According to the 35-year-old actor, his years in the business have made him mature and more equipped to handle roles such as Eros in The Iron Heart.
“So, now parang I have learned a lot more. I’m more mature. My body is more conditioned for this now.
“I’m just grateful to be working with Richard, kasi like I just said, we both started in Click, and we’re both like teenagers back then. Now we’re men, and we’re just happy na tanggap nila ‘yung tandem naming dalawa,
“It does feel na parang Tayong Dalawa, back the. Ganon namin nararamdaman ‘yung tanggap ng tao sa aming dalawa. Just grateful, very grateful, “ he shared, recalling his past show which he co-starred with Gerald Anderson in 2009.
Tayong Dalawa notably ruled as one of that year’s top rated dramas.
Cuenca reiterated the ease and comfort he had with Gutierrez as his co-actor saying, “Of all the action projects I’ve done in the past, Richard is the easiest person to work with, talaga. Like you get out of a really heavy fight scene, like kunwari mag-fight scene kami nang magdamagan…scratchless, hindi nasasaktan talaga, and I love Chard for that,”
“Si Chard talaga is the epitome of an action star. It’s true enough…no wonder na gustong-gusto siya katrabaho ng ibang tao kasi totoo naman, he’s so easy to work with.pagdating sa action scenes.”
