In a bid to strengthen Cebu as an alternative hub to Manila, AirAsia Philippines, the country’s safest low-cost airline successfully brought the festivities, fun, and excitement of Fly Fest to the Queen City of the South, this weekend.

The event, attended by representatives from the Cebu City and Lapu-Lapu City Tourism Office, and the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, gave travelers a glimpse of AirAsia Philippines’ huge plan for the Cebu hub.

Attended by travel junkies from Cebu and neighboring provinces including Bohol and Dumaguete, the event outlined how Filipinos are on track to booking international destinations with 4x weekly flights to Taipei, 3x weekly flights to Kuala Lumpur and Seoul, 2x weekly flights to Shenzhen beginning next month, and daily flights to Tokyo starting July.

Other international destinations Filipinos should watch out for include Seoul, Taipei, Kaoshiung, Hong Kong, Macao, and Shanghai.

AirAsia also flies 2x daily to Boracay and Puerto Princesa, and Davao daily from Cebu.

AirAsia Philippines CEO Ricky Isla said “Now that AirAsia Philippines is on full throttle towards sustaining its Q2 success towards the rest of 2023, we are now offering Cebu via Mactan-Cebu International Airport as an alternative hub to Ninoy Aquino International Airport for Cebuano and Central Visayas travelers planning to fly domestic and abroad. Backed with our world-class service and affordable rates, we intend to entice more Visayan travelers to gain new travel experiences.”

Travelers can conveniently book their flight using airasia Superapp and get additional rewards points. Using just one app, they can complement their piso fare flight with accommodations in Bohol, Cebu, and Manila available at up to 70% off for purchases made via airasia Super App during Flyfest

airasia Superapp Managing Director Ray Berja said: “Our return to Cebu is clear proof that travel is back on track. After overcoming a huge challenge in our industry, we are here to strengthen our collaboration with the tourism sector. In doing so, we want

to introduce to you the airasia Superapp where you can book all your travel needs using just one application. Apart from flights and hotels, you can purchase travel essentials and other delicacies and have them delivered in-flight with airasia shop. You can also book inter-island transfers via bus or ferry using airasia Superapp. Truly, there are limitless opportunities ahead and airasia Superapp is here to make travel accessible to all.”

AiraAsia Cebu Fly Fest, which took place at the Terraces, Ayala Center, treated local travelers to huge discounts on flight tickets, hotel bookings, and activities across various AirAsia destinations.

The World’s Best Low-Cost Airline also introduced to Cebuano travelers AirAsia Vibe – a new campaign that features four fun ways to enjoy travel – Adventure Vibe, K-Pop Vibe, City Vibe, and Tropical Vibe.

AirAsia Cebu Fly Fest also announced the much-awaited Piso Sale with flights as low as PHP 1 one-way base fare to select destinations and up to 50% OFF with partner merchants via a-access.

AirAsia Philippines encourages guests to stay updated with the latest travel advisories, guidelines, and booking options through the airasia Superapp, its official website (www.airasia.com) and social media channels. Guests are also reminded to comply with the respective government regulations and travel requirements to ensure a smooth and hassle-free journey.
