Quinn Carillo voices her thoughts about Philippines injustices

On April 28, Viva artist-writer Quinn Carillo voiced her thoughts about the injustices faced by Filipinos.

At the media conference for ‘Fall Guy’ which LionhearTV covered, Carillo addressed whether she would take matters into her own hands if she faced insurmountable injustices.

“Hindi ko rin masabi, kasi kapag pinagdaanan mo ‘yung mga ganong klaseng bagay, especially kapag namumuo na ‘yung galit sa puso mo, mahirap masabi kasi ano ‘yan eh, ang galit toxic substance ‘yan. Hindi mo talaga masasabi kung anong mangyayari, kung anong pwedeng gawin sa’yo niyan.”

She said she is a go-getter, but dubious about administering justice herself.

“Ako as a person, I can say na I’m a go-getter. I’m the type of person na when one door closes, I make a new one. Ganon akong klaseng tao.”

She also noted how people have their breaking points.

“Pero kapag ikaw ‘yung nasa spot na ‘yun and then na-experience mo lahat na ‘yun, mahirap talagang masabi kasi ang daming nabubulag ng– nabubulag ka sa pagmamahal, nabubulag ka sa galit, so hindi mo mahusgahan ‘yung sarili mo. Hindi mo alam kung ano ba talagang kaya mong gawin at that specific point.”

She then felt saddened by the reality that most wronged Filipinos still hadn’t achieved justice.

“And alam natin dito sa Pilipinas, di ba? ‘Yung mga ganyang social commentary, laganap naman po talaga. And I know coming from me na from a privileged point, ang hirap paniwalaan, pero masaklap, malungkot, na marami pa rin nakakaranas ng ganyan.

“Pero it’s something na naging normal na lang sa atin na tinatanggap na lang na mas malungkot pa, kasi nagiging normal na lang sa paningin natin.”

As for ‘Fall Guy’, the social-crime-drama film stars Sean de Guzman, Glydel Mercado, Shamaine Buencamino, Vance Larena, Cloe Barreto, Carrillo, Marco Gomez, Karl Aquino, Tina Paner, Jim Pebanco, Pancho Carrillo, Mark Cardona, Tiffany Grey, Azekah Alvarez, Nisa Ortiz, Hershie de Leon, and Itan Magnaye.

Under the direction of award-winning filmmaker Joel Lamangan, ‘Fall Guy’ streams via Vivamax on May 12.
