Bea Alonzo considers herself as her greatest critic

On October 27, Kapuso actress Bea Alonzo considered herself her greatest critic when it comes to her performances.

At the media conference for the Kapuso Mall Show in Vista Mall Davao, Davao City, for GMA Regional TV, which LionhearTV covered, Alonzo recounted how she would often assess herself on set when she sees her performance on set.

“Hindi ako nanonood ng preview. Nahihiya ako kasi ‘yun nga, most of the time when I see myself, in the monitor or in the TV, may cringe factor sa sarili ko because baka tama ‘yung my greatest critic.

“I always think that I’ve should have done something else, I should done better, or sometimes, hindi ko siya in purpose chine-check kasi kapag chine check mo ‘yung sarili mo nagiging vain ka. Nakikita mo yung– nakikita ko ‘yung dapat dito ako umanggulo, dito ako umano. So, you tend to be more mindful of that better than how you feel.”

She remembered the premiere night of ‘Love Before Sunrise,’ where she could not help but assess her performance.

“Like ‘yung nag-premiere night kami, hindi ako masyadong ano– kinakabahan ako, kasi every premiere night ko, lagi akong may ganong factor sa sarili ko, may cringe factor, lalo na kapag alam ko na I should’ve done better in a scene, tapos makikita ko ‘yung ano.

“Buti na lang, when I saw the premiere night, which always happens naman to me, whenever we attend a premiere night, sobrang saya ko doon sa nakita because it was [really well] executed. And, of course, we have Direk Mark to thank for that. And, of course, the whole team of GMA and Viu.”

She noted the feedback about her chemistry with Dennis Trillo, which reminded Alonzo of her early years in ABS-CBN.

“Siguro one of the best feedback na nakuha ko is that maganda namin ‘yung chemistry namin ni Dennis. Kasi for me, para siyang full-circle experience kasi he was my first love team before, we we’re launched together before, so ang sarap lang pakinggan na we never lost it.

“And I think falling in love, is just like any other emotions, so ibig sabihin nagawa namin ‘yung acting namin, ‘yung trabaho namin because ano eh, falling in love is just being sad, being happy, it’s a feeling. So kung nakukuha namin naco-convey namin siya ng maayos, that means we are doing our jobs well.”

‘Love Before Sunrise’ stars Bea Alonzo, Dennis Trillo, Andrea Torres, and Sid Lucero.

The cast includes Sef Cadayona, Rodjun Cruz, Vaness del Moral, Vince Maristela, Jose Sarasola, Cheska Fausto, Tetchie Agbayani, Ricky Davao, Jackie Lou Blanco, Isay Alvarez, Nadia Montenegro, and Matet de Leon.

The GMA Network-Viu Philippines produced series, under the direction of Mark Sicat Dela Cruz, airs on GMA Telebabad Monday through Friday with advance episodes on the Viu.
