It’s just a few hours before the new Miss Universe is crowned in José Adolfo Pineda Arena in San Salvador, El Salvador, on November 18 (November 19 in Manila)–here are the list of the site’s #HotPicks for the #Top20 semifinalists.
The ladies were selected based on their profile images, and their respective advocacies that would readily fit the Force for Good thrust of the new Miss Universe Organization under the leadership of Thai transwoman business magnate—Anne Jakrajutatip.
From the 84 official candidates–its first cut will be the Top 20.
Without further ado, here are the countries that made it to the site’s HOT PICKS, in alphabetical order:
1. Australia’s Moraya Wilson is a sports coach focusing predominantly on skiing and track.
2. Colombia’s Camila Avella is a graceful and charming journalist, model, mother, and wife who empowers young mothers aged 11 and above.
3. Curacao’s Kim Rossen is an occupational therapist who loves assisting the elderly to be more independent.
4. Dominican Republic’s Mariana Downing is a Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute graduate and a professional model in New York.
5. Ecuador’s Delary Stoffers advocates for women’s empowerment.
6. Egypt’s Mohra Tantawy is a 21-year-old model who advocates for women’s rights, equity, and empowerment through education.
7. France’s Diane Leyre, also advocates for anti-racism and homophobia. She’s a French model and radio personality.
8. Guyana’s Lisa Andrea Narine, a 26-year-old creative coordinator, radio host, dancer, model, archer, and activist.
9. India’s Shweta Sharda came from a humble background with nothing but her courage, determination, and passion in the city of dreams, Mumbai.
10. Mexico’s Melissa Flores advocates for self-love and the removal of boundaries for women.
11. Nicaragua’s Sheynnis Palacios supports a project named “Entiende tu mente” or “Understand your mind.” It seeks to emphasize the importance of mental health.
12. Norway’s Julie Tollefsen is a 28-year-old fashion designer from Oslo, Norway. She advocates and volunteers for the organization “Mental Health Oslo.”
13. Pakistan’s Erica Robin, a 24-year-old model from Pakistan who belongs to the 1% of the country’s Christian minority.
14. Puerto Rico’s Karla Guilfu Acevedo, 25, advocates for mental health through social justice.
15. South Africa’s Bryoni Natalie Govender, the first Indian heritage to represent South Africa.
16. Thailand’s Anntonia Porsild is a young entrepreneur who values the essence of being financially independent.
17. Ukraine’s Angelina Usanova is a singer, pianist, and composer. She shares her musical expressions to promote the importance of world peace. She’s involved in constructing retreat centers in Ukraine and in the USA.
18. USA’s Noeilia Voigt is a bilingual Venezuelan-American and an interior design student. She advocates for immigration rights and reform.
19. Venezuela’s Diana Silva, a flight attendant. She advocates for mental health and body positivity.
20. Zimbabwe’s Brooke Bruk-Jackson, is a 21-year-old esthetician, fashion designer, and model. She supports the financial inclusion of women in the informal sector.
But as of now, some speculations that the next winner will be a Latina, but yearly the most prestigious pageant never rans out of surprises.
