On January 9, Kapamilya star Andrea Brillantes asserted that being in a love team is not for her.
At the media conference for the Senior High Finale, which LionhearTV covered, Brillantes remarked that while she supports love teams, she thought that having an exclusive on-screen pairing was not for her.
“Pero like support din ako sa mga may love teams, pero siguro, na-realize ko lang, I think it’s just not for me being paired up with ka-partner. I think personally, mas nakakakita ako ng personal growth kapag mag-isa po ako eh. So ‘yun pero personally support ako sa mga love team, I have nothing against them, parang it’s my personal opinion and experience ko lang po.”
She then noted some of her previous on-screen pairings from the series Annaliza to Pangako Sayo (2016) with her Senior High co-star Juan Karlos.
“I think nagsimula po siya, nag-start pa lang ako ng acting ko at age of seven. And parang nagkaroon na rin ako ng kaunti-unting partner sa Annaliza, I was ten. Si JK naging partner ko din po before.”
However, she emphasized how much she has changed over the years.
“Ang dami ko pong pinagdaanan na sa mga shows ko na lagi akong may nakaka-partner. Tapos, noong nagkaroon lang ako ng opportunity na parang oy, parang pwede na akong mag-solo artist.Â
P”arang gusto ko siyang i-explore. Tapos super ko po siyang na-eenjoy lang and mas nakikilala ko po ‘yung sarili ko at ‘yung sarili ko bilang actress at mas marami na po akong paglaruan at mas marami na po akong pwedeng makatrabaho na bago.”
She also maintained that she wanted to explore as a solo artist rather than exclusively be in an on-screen pairing.
“‘Yun lang po, parang ang tagal ko kasing madaming partners and I wanted something new and habang mas bata pa ako, mas madali pang mag-explore. Habang di pa ako masyadong sanay para hindi ako maging super dependent sa for-example kung magkakapartner ako.”
Her most recent on-screen pairing is with her Kadenang Ginto co-star Seth Fedelin.
