On February 7, Kapamilya star Anthony Jennings recounted how Can’t Buy Me Love changed his life.
At a media conference for Star Magic at the Limbaga 77 Cafe, which LionhearTV covered, Jennings first thanked Star Magic, Star Creatives, Rise Artist Studios, his handlers, and his managers for helping him get the projects he recently got, including Can’t Buy Me Love.
He noted how the series opened up opportunities for his acting career.
“Ang dami eh, ang daming nagbago po. Kumbaga in a good way naman, daming benefits na nakukuha, may mga rakets na ko. Dati wala eh, tambay lang ako sa bahay, Playstation buong araw, ngayon iba na, lagi na akong sa labas. Ang dami ko nakakausap na tao, pictorial.”
He also underscored how his recent popularity, thanks to his character, helped him engage more with his fans.
“Ako kasi, ang hilig ko talaga as ako, of course, may mga nagpapa-picture sinabi ko din dati, pero gusto ko talaga nag-i-interact ako sa mga fans. Kinakausap ko sila. Tapos kamusta kana, basta may interaction palagi and parang hindi nawala ‘yun sa akin.
“So, may mga nagbago, pero ako stay pa rin naman ako parang ‘yun naman ‘yun minahal sa akin ng tao eh. Anong babaguhin ko di ba?”
Admittedly, he felt overwhelmed with the recent success of his unexpected pairing with Can’t Buy Me Love co-star Maris Racal.
“Opo sobrang nakaka-overwhelm. Hindi ko rin kasi ine-expect na magbo-boom ‘yung character na ganon eh. Ako, nag-iinternalize lang talaga ako, ‘Sige kailangan makulit ako eh.’ So, everyday ginagawa ko.”
