In a recent revelation by Janella Salvador’s director and manager, Manny Valera, concerns over the health of her son, Jude, who was hospitalized due to pneumonia, led to the postponement of her highly anticipated 10th-anniversary concert.

During a press conference for a new movie, Valera shared insights into Salvador’s decision to delay her concert, explaining that Jude’s hospitalization triggered intense fear and anxiety for the actress-singer.
“Nagka-pneumonia (si Jude), basta nagkasakit and he needed to be hospitalized at St. Luke’s. Limang araw siya sa ICU. So, siyempre disturbed ang utak (ni Janella). Aside from that, siyempre you missed the band rehearsal. She also missed ‘yung mga mall show. Nag-pack up kami ng apat o lima kasi hindi siya maka-focus dahil ang utak niya nasa anak, ‘di ba? And then after four to five days nag-regular room na ng mga two days. One week siya sa hospital,” Valera explained.
After spending several days in the ICU, Jude was transferred to a regular room for an additional two days before being discharged from the hospital after a week.
Regarding the rescheduling of Salvador’s concert, Valera stated, “Nagta-target kami base sa last usapan namin September. Kasi gustong tapusin ni Janella ‘yung responsibilities niya, kasi until now may promo pa rin ng Mallari abroad, sa Singapore. E, bilang mabait tinutupad niya ‘yung trabaho ng isang artista ng Mallari. So nao-occupy ‘yung oras niya and then siyempre pinasok na namin ‘yung matagal nang schedule na How to Be A Good Wife with Jane de Leon.”
Salvador’s concert cancellation initially sparked speculations about poor ticket sales and drew unwarranted criticisms on social media. However, Salvador addressed the situation with humor, joking about her hoarse voice and playfully reassuring her fans.
“Paos kasi siya, kayo nalang!!! Ayan inunahan ko na kayo mwah,” Salvador humorously quipped, addressing concerns about her health and the postponed concert.

Salvador’s concert, initially slated for April 19 at the New Frontier Theater, featured a lineup of special guests, including her mother Jenine Desiderio, Jane De Leon, Marlo Mortel, Arizona Brandy, and Brigiding, among others.
The postponement of Salvador’s concert came shortly after her appearance on “It’s Showtime,” where she declined to perform due to her hoarse voice, using the same light-hearted explanation she later shared on social media.
