Roxanne Guinoo is making a much-anticipated return to the entertainment industry with a role in ABS-CBN’s upcoming primetime series, ‘Lavender Fields.’
This comeback marks a significant moment in her career, as she steps back into the spotlight after a period away from showbiz.
Guinoo, who will play the wife of veteran actor Albert Martinez’s character, shared her excitement about the role in a press release. Despite the brevity of her appearance, she emphasized its importance. “It’s a very short role, pero may impact,” Guinoo said, highlighting her commitment to delivering a performance rich with emotional depth, especially in the flashback scenes.
The actress credited Martinez’s encouragement as a key factor in her decision to return to acting. “Sabi kasi ni Tito Albert, ‘Alam mo, bumalik ka na kasi kulang na sa mahuhusay na artista,’” she recalled. Challenged by his words, Guinoo is eager to prove her talent, not just to her fans, but to herself as well. “Na-challenge ako sa sinabi ni Tito Albert. Kahit 38 [years-old na ako] at malapit na mag-40, baka mabigyan pa din ako ng surprise break sa career ko.”
Inspired by the journey of ‘Lavender Fields’ lead star Jodi Sta. Maria, Guinoo is determined to carve out her own path in the industry. “Si Ate Jodi, noon, lagi lang siyang best friend ng bida… Hindi siya sumuko. Ako rin, bakit hindi ko susubukan?” she said, expressing her resolve to create her own success story.
Reflecting on her past experiences, Guinoo acknowledged how they have shaped her into a more versatile actress. “Yung mga pinagdaanan ko in the past, nagagamit ko siya sa mga roles na ginagawa ko,” she noted.
