Comedienne Aiai delas Alas shared her candid thoughts on the controversy surrounding Chloe San Jose, the girlfriend of Olympic gymnast Carlos Yulo, and her ongoing conflict with Carlos’ mother, Angelica Yulo.
The comments came after Aiai attended the press conference for the sixth season of GMA Network’s ‘The Clash,’ where she is returning as a judge.
When asked about the situation, Aiai advised San Jose to approach the issue with respect and caution, reminding her of the importance of maintaining a good relationship with her partner’s family.
“Girl, ‘wag mong awayin ang nanay kasi nanay ‘yan, eh. Kung wala ‘yong nanay niya, wala kang darling ngayon,” Aiai said. “At saka hindi ka pa asawa, girl. Girlfriend ka pa lang. ’Pag asawa ka na, puwede. Pero ‘pag girlfriend ka palang, ‘wag mo munang awayin kasi alam mo naman ang mga mommy… kasi isa ‘yan sa mga way[s] na magiging harmonious ang inyong relationship.”

Aiai emphasized the importance of respect towards future in-laws, sharing that she advises her own children to treat their partners’ families with kindness and deference.
The dispute between San Jose and Angelica Yulo came to light on September 5, when Carlos Yulo’s father, Mark Andrew Yulo, shared screenshots that allegedly exposed the disrespect San Jose showed towards his wife. The screenshots, initially shared by family friend Gerald Fajardo, revealed conversations from a group chat that included San Jose, her family, and Angelica.
In the messages, San Jose reportedly called Angelica a “coward” for making critical comments about her on social media but avoiding confrontation. She also allegedly compared Angelica to a “cute fish” in church and a “villainous shark” at home. In another exchange, Carlos and San Jose seemed to reference someone as a “thief” and “liar” in a Facebook post.
Fajardo’s post further alleged that San Jose distanced Carlos from his family, sold her P50,000 laptop to Carlos while still using it herself, and caused friction between Carlos and his mother, leading to accusations against Angelica of theft and dishonesty.
