AJ Raval revealed that she would likely blame herself if her boyfriend, Aljur Abrenica, were to cheat on her.
The candid admission came during an exclusive YouTube interview with veteran broadcaster Julius Babao.
In the interview, which also featured AJ’s father, seasoned actor Jeric Raval, along with his wife Holiday Buensuceso and their children, the conversation touched on Jeric’s past as a womanizer. This led to a pointed question for AJ: “Paano kung gagawin din ni Aljur ang ginawa ni Jeric?”
Initially taken aback by the question, AJ passed it on to her father. Jeric responded by emphasizing the importance of responsibility in a man, especially when it comes to taking care of a family. He shared that he has known womanizers who still took good care of their families, highlighting the importance of being responsible despite flaws.
When the question was redirected to AJ, she responded, “Siguro kung dumating sa point na ganun, siguro sisisihin ko ‘yung sarili ko. Siyempre, kung saan ako nagkulang, kung naging maayos ba akong partner, naging nagger ba ako, nasuportahan ko ba siya ‘nung time na down siya.”
AJ added, however, that she is confident Aljur would not cheat on her. “Pero ngayon, confident ako na hindi niya gagawin sakin ‘yun kasi maganda ‘yung dynamic namin ngayon eh. And of course, galing na siya sa pagkakamali at sinasabi niya na natuto na siya.”
When asked for his advice to his daughter, Jeric offered a stern reminder: “Huwag mong hayaang manalo ‘yung kerida, parang ganun. [Kasi] parang pinamigay mo na.”
AJ and Aljur went public with their relationship on Valentine’s Day last year. In July 2021, Senator Robinhood Padilla, Kylie Padilla’s father, confirmed that Kylie and Aljur had separated after two years of marriage—a split that both Kylie and Aljur later acknowledged in separate social media posts.
