Kapuso TV host and actress Rabiya Mateo has addressed swirling rumors about her relationship with actor Jeric Gonzales, clarifying that they are still together despite recent speculation of a breakup.
The chatter began when Rabiya unfollowed and blocked Jeric on Instagram, prompting fans to wonder about their status.
In an appearance on ‘The Boobay and Tekla Show’ on Sunday, September 22, Rabiya revealed that her actions were the result of a momentary lapse, humorously stating, “Medyo taken, charot! Depende sa topak ko sa araw na ‘yun,” confirming that she is still in a relationship with Jeric.
Rabiya explained the situation, stating that she had a difficult day, which led to her impulsive decision to block Jeric. She noted, “Oo nga! Ang bilis kasi ng mga Marites. Alam mo naman tayo, kapag padating na yung araw natin, iba na yung topak natin,” referring to how hormonal changes can affect mood.
Despite the misunderstanding, Rabiya reassured fans that she and Jeric were actually together on the day the rumors began to circulate and had recently returned from a trip to Taiwan. She expressed her surprise at how quickly the news spread, saying, “I was going to follow him again, kasi nag-okay na kami that day. Pero nakalimutan ko, e wala na, sumabog na.”
When asked about following Jeric back, Rabiya laughed and said, “Ngayon, hindi muna.” She further clarified that there are many false stories circulating, asserting, “I and Jeric are okay. Wala namang perfect relationship.”
Rabiya emphasized that, despite the challenges they face, the couple is committed to understanding each other’s quirks and continuing to grow together. “It’s a good start,” she added.
