After a six-year absence, actor-singer James Reid made his much-anticipated return to the ‘ASAP’ stage on Sunday, delivering a thrilling performance of his 2015 hit single ‘Randomantic.’

The song, which recently gained renewed attention on TikTok with viral edits, showcased Reid’s enduring appeal as both a performer and heartthrob.

In an interview after the performance, Reid expressed his excitement and nervousness about returning to the popular variety show. “To be honest, I’m super nervous. It’s been a long time, it’s been like 5 or 6 years since I last been here in ‘ASAP.’ And to be with my idols again, with you, guys, it’s amazing. I am glad to be back,” the actor-singer shared.

Reid’s comeback was met with support from fellow Kapamilya stars, including Bianca Gonzalez, Lovi Poe, his ‘Pinoy Big Brother’ batchmate Ryan Bang, and girlfriend Issa Pressman, who all sent him heartfelt messages. The love and support from his colleagues and fans made the moment even more special for the returning star.

James Reid also thanked his loyal fanbase, known as Reiders, who have supported him since his ‘Pinoy Big Brother’ victory in 2010. “Thank you so much to all the Reiders and everyone who has been supporting me since ‘PBB’ days. It’s been a long time, but I appreciate your love and support. I love you guys,” Reid said during the show.

In addition to his ‘Randomantic’ performance, Reid teased fans about his upcoming music, promising more appearances and new tracks on ‘ASAP.’ “I have new songs that I’m excited to share with everyone soon on the ‘ASAP’ stage. Stay tuned for that,” Reid hinted.

Reflecting on his return, Reid shared how the welcoming atmosphere of the “ASAP” family made him feel at home. “It feels like I never left. It’s been a long time, but the love and warmth from the ‘ASAP’ team and everyone here made it feel like I never went away. I’m really grateful,” he added.

James Reid first gained widespread recognition after winning ‘Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Clash’ in 2010. He quickly rose to fame with the hit romantic comedy ‘Diary ng Panget’ (2014), solidifying his place in the entertainment industry as both an actor and singer. Reid has also earned numerous accolades, including an MTV Europe Music Award for Best Southeast Asian Act.

Now, as the head of his own record label, Careless Music, Reid continues to expand his career in music, working on new projects both for himself and other artists.
