At the recent launch of The Little Zions baby care line on October 13, 2024, at The Atrium, Enderun, actress-turned-Mom-influencer Melissa Ricks made a public appearance with her daughter, Keira.
During the event, Keira revealed her budding interest in following her mother’s footsteps into showbiz.
Melissa, who stepped away from the entertainment industry a decade ago to focus on family life, shared a lighthearted moment with the media. When asked about the possibility of returning to showbiz, Melissa turned the question to her daughter. Keira nodded eagerly, expressing her desire to enter the industry, to which Melissa jokingly responded, “Oh no!”
While Melissa is hesitant about her daughter’s aspirations, she revealed that Keira has already auditioned for ‘Goin’ Bulilit,’ a popular children’s show, though time is running out as Keira nears the show’s age limit of 10 years old. “It depends,” Melissa said when asked if she would allow Keira to pursue acting, explaining that her daughter has been watching her past roles on YouTube, which sparked her curiosity about showbiz.
“Sabi niya, napapanood niya sa YouTube ang mga ginagawa ko dati, ‘yung mga ‘Pedro Penduko,’ mga ganyan, kasi, bakit daw ang daming nagpapapicture sa akin? Syempre ang hirap iexplain. Kaya panoorin mo na lang. Sabi niya, ‘That’s you?’ Syempre iba pa ang hitsura,” Melissa shared with a laugh.
When asked if Keira’s father supports her interest in acting, Melissa responded, “Okay naman sa Daddy niya. Syempre hindi naman naexperience ng Daddy niya ‘yung natry ko ‘di ba? It’s really hard na mag-artista. ‘Yung puyat, ‘yung pagod…”

Keira, when asked why she wanted to enter showbiz, pointed to her mother, showing she wanted to follow in her footsteps.
