GMA Network’s staunch fight against piracy continues with the launch of Kuya Kim Atienza’s new anti-piracy video during “The Piracy Cybercrime Nexus: Risks to Users and Challenges in Disrupting the Criminal Ecosystem” anti-piracy symposium last November 13 at the Marriott Hotel. The event, co-organized by GMA Network, together with the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL), ACE, and Globe Telecom, addressed the rising threat of online piracy in the Philippines.
During the symposium, a recent study by the Motion Picture Association (MPA) revealed that Filipino consumers who access pirated content are at severe risk of cyber threats. The Network and its partners advocate for stronger anti-piracy measures and increased consumer awareness to combat this.

Like, what is cybersecurity? It’s a term derived from ‘cybernetics,’ a field of study from the 1970s. Essentially, cybersecurity is about protecting information and systems from digital threats. Things like this are what we need to communicate these technical concepts to Gen Z and Millennials, in a way that’s easy to understand and engaging.
