Maris Racal has finally addressed the buzz surrounding a photo showing her and her on-screen partner, Anthony Jennings, wearing matching shoes while filming in Italy for their movie ‘Incognito.’
The photo, which surfaced in September, showed the two in matching black-and-white Adidas Samba sneakers, sparking speculation among fans that there might be a deeper connection between the two stars.
Adding fuel to the rumors, fans noted that Maris had recently ended her relationship with Rico Blanco, while Jennings’ relationship with his non-showbiz girlfriend, Jam Villanueva, was rumored to be on rocky ground. Reports in October even hinted at the couple’s official breakup, adding to the intrigue.
In a recent interview with TV5’s MJ Marfori, Maris clarified the situation, saying, “Actually, nagkataon lang talaga na same kami ng shoes.”
She explained further, “Natawa na nga lang ako sa nangyari kasi nagkataon lang talaga na ganu’n ‘yung sapatos namin. Matagal na akong may ganu’ng sapatos, like, three years ago na or two.”
Laughing off the coincidence, she reaffirmed that the matching footwear was purely incidental and not a statement about their relationship status. “So, yeah, nagkasabay lang talaga.”
