Kapamilya actor Anthony Jennings is feeling all sorts of emotions as he reflects on his role in the hit primetime action series ‘Incognito: Nihon Saga’.
In a media conference held April 7, the 24-year-old star opened up about playing Tomas Guerrero, a street-smart but loyal member of the Kontraks, whose fate now hangs in the balance after a cliffhanger scene in the show’s mid-season trailer.
“Sobrang grateful ako sa lahat,” said Jennings, who was visibly emotional about his journey on the show. “Siyempre, nadaanan namin ‘yung hirap at ginhawa sa set… pero sobrang sulit. Okay siya. No’ng una parang, ‘Kaya ba namin ito, Direk?’ Ang daming questions eh.”
The trailer, which has since gone viral, ends with Tomas being struck by a sword—prompting netizens to question whether he survives. Anthony couldn’t help but joke: “Sana hindi ako mamatay!” he laughed, clearly hopeful for more screen time in the series.
Reflecting on the show’s global shoot, the actor revealed that their Italy leg was the most memorable. “Siguro yung sa Italy for me kasi yun talaga yung pinaka kumpleto kami. Buo yung grupo dun. Nabigyan ako ng core memory. Binigyan ako ng peklat sa tuhod—astig din,” he shared.
‘Incognito’, which has gained massive traction on Netflix and iWantTFC since its premiere in January, recently filmed pivotal scenes in the snowy region of Yamagata, Japan, adding a cinematic flair to the show’s already ambitious scope.
“Sobrang nakaka-proud na parte pa rin ako ng show na ito,” Anthony said. “Pag nararamdaman mong medyo patapos na kayo, iba na yung pakiramdam eh. Malulungkot ka na. Parang kailangan ko sila makita palagi eh. Every time na magsusuot ako ng uniform, iba yung pakiramdam.”
Anthony also expressed gratitude for the camaraderie he’s built with his co-stars like Richard Gutierrez, Daniel Padilla, Baron Geisler, Maris Racal, and Kaila Estrada, saying that Incognito gave him not just a career milestone but also lifelong friendships.
With viewers clamoring for a Season 2, Anthony remains optimistic. “Sana magkaroon pa ng Season 2 para marami pa kaming puwedeng ibigay. Maraming salamat sa lahat ng nanonood at sumusuporta,” he said.
Outside of ‘Incognito’, Anthony is also gearing up for his international film debut in Sonny Calvento’s upcoming horror dramedy ‘Mother Maybe’, slated to begin filming later this year.
