Kapamilya actress and Pinoy Big Brother alumna Karina Bautista, fresh off her appearance in the currently showing film My Love Will Make You Disappear, recently addressed a netizen’s curiosity about her absence from the ABS-CBN Ball 2025.

Known for her dazzling red-carpet moments and standout style, Karina admitted that skipping the event was a tough decision for someone who loves to “rumampa at umawra” and has consistently served unforgettable looks at the ball year after year.
In a playful response, the actress explained that financial priorities led her to sit this one out.
“Tinimbang ko rin kasi… napaka expensive niya, ha,” she said, pointing to the high costs of attending the star-studded event. From securing a glam team to pulling off her signature show-stopping looks, Karina noted that the expenses are significant.
“Biruin mo naman, ang ganda ko every time, pasabog,” she joked, underscoring that such perfection requires a hefty investment she’s currently redirecting elsewhere.
Karina shared that she’s been busy with personal projects that demand her attention and resources. “Right now, ang dami ko kasing pinapagawa, pinapaayos—sa lupa, dito sa business, sa kuwarto ko,” she revealed. Among her exciting endeavors is a soon-to-launch podcast, for which she’s been purchasing new equipment like lighting.
Calling herself an “independent girly,” Karina emphasized her choice to save money and avoid debt, a situation she strongly dislikes. “Hindi rin naman tayo anak ni Henry Sy na mag-pass muna para makatipid,” she added with a lighthearted nod to practicality.
While the ABS-CBN Ball offers valuable exposure and networking opportunities—especially for someone like Karina, who’s building on her momentum from various projects, including My Love Will Make You Disappear—she opted to prioritize her current commitments.
“Akala ko nga hindi niyo naman mapapansin na hahanapin ba ako dun parang hindi naman,” she said, downplaying her absence.
Still, she thanked her fans for their unwavering support and vowed to make a splash at the next event. “Thank you guys, very very much. Promise, babawi tayo sa next ball,” she promised.
