Kapamilya actress and content creator Ivana Alawi once again proved that her influence goes beyond entertainment as she extended financial assistance to young patients at the Philippine Children’s Medical Center (PCMC) in her latest YouTube vlog titled ‘Buhay Ospital.’
The vlog, which had been in preparation since last year, featured Ivana visiting children undergoing treatment at PCMC. According to the actress, they secured the necessary permits and informed everyone involved well in advance.
“Since last year pa kami nag-prepare sa pagkuha ng mga permits at pagpapaalam sa lahat ng tao na makikita sa video na ito,” Ivana shared.
During her visit, Ivana listened to the stories of the young patients and their families, spoke with doctors and nurses, and personally handed out ₱50,000 in financial aid to select patients to help ease the burden of medical expenses.
“Napakahirap kasi magkasakit—financially, mentally, everything [is affected]. Kaya ito, maliit na tulong. Na-touch nga ako kanina kasi big thing na pumunta ako dito kasi sumaya sila,” she said emotionally.
Ivana also reflected on how the experience shifted her perspective: “Sobrang hirap nung nakita ko ‘yung sitwasyon nila tapos ako umaarte sa mga problema ko. ‘Yung mga bata, mas malaki ‘yung problema nila.”
As a token of appreciation, she gifted a brand-new phone to the doctor and nurse who accompanied her around the hospital wards.
The actress ended her vlog with a heartfelt plea to her viewers not to skip the advertisements, explaining that the revenue generated will be donated directly to PCMC.
“Mabigat nakapanood ng mga ganitong kuwento pero pakiusap ko, sana ‘wag n’yo pong i-skip ang mga ads, dahil lahat ng kikitain ng video na ito ay ido-donate natin sa Philippine Children’s Medical Center. Maraming salamat po,” she said.
