Tucked high in the scenic hills of Baybay, Leyte, IncreDable Café is quickly emerging as one of Eastern Visayas’ most enchanting eco-tourism destinations, thanks to its breathtaking view of the Sea of Clouds—a natural phenomenon that transforms the mountainscape into a dreamlike scene at dawn.
As part of a recent media tour organized by AirAsia Philippines and the local tourism office, select members of the press made the early morning journey to witness this unique experience.
Despite the overcast weather and light rain, the group, riding motorcycles before sunrise, ascended to Villa Solidaridad, where mist and fog gave way to occasional glimpses of golden light piercing through the clouds.
Located at a high elevation, IncreDable Café offers guests a panoramic view of Baybay’s mountainous landscape. Designed with an open-air, rustic concept, the café invites visitors to enjoy the crisp mountain breeze and serene surroundings, far removed from the bustle of city life.
While the elusive sunrise remained hidden behind the clouds during the visit, the experience remained fulfilling thanks to the café’s warm hospitality, relaxing ambiance, and hearty breakfast offerings.
For us from Manila, seeing the sunrise in a place like this is rare. Even if it didn’t show up that day, it was still so worth it.
The Sea of Clouds occurs when specific temperature and humidity conditions trap fog in the valleys, giving the illusion that the mountains are floating above the clouds. This phenomenon is most common during the cooler months from November to February, with the best viewing window between 5:00 AM to 8:00 AM.
IncreDable Café has since gained popularity among both locals and tourists, not only for the view but also for its well-curated menu. Guests can enjoy traditional Filipino breakfast dishes paired with locally grown mountain coffee, served hot while surrounded by nature’s grandeur.
Beyond the food and views, the café has also become a hotspot for content creators and photography enthusiasts. With its IG-worthy nooks, colorful plants, and natural wooden interiors, every angle offers a picturesque backdrop ideal for social media sharing.
Despite not witnessing the full sunrise, guests were still able to explore the area and take in the peaceful, cloud-covered landscape.
Even without the sunrise, the weather was cool, the food was delicious, and every corner of the café was perfect for taking photos.
IncreDable Café opens as early as 5:00 AM to accommodate sunrise seekers and closes in the late afternoon. It is located roughly 20 minutes from Baybay city proper, and the uphill journey offers stunning views of Leyte’s lush countryside.
