Filipina global pop star and KATSEYE member Sophia Laforteza couldn’t hide her admiration for SB19 after attending the P-pop supergroup’s ‘Simula at Wakas’ world tour stop in Los Angeles, California.
Despite her busy schedule, Sophia made time to catch SB19’s show at the City National Grove of Anaheim on July 13 (July 14 in the Philippines). Her presence didn’t go unnoticed—SB19’s Stell gave her a special shoutout during the concert.
“We’re very happy to share that we have a special guest tonight. Ohmigod. She’s watching right now, Sophia from KATSEYE! Thank you so much! Thank you for coming and watching,” Stell said, prompting cheers from the audience as Sophia waved from her seat—mid-bite of pizza, as she later shared.
On the fan platform Weverse, Sophia gushed about the experience: “Just got home from SB19’s concert. Stell called me out after I took a bite of pizza so I was literally chewing and waving. But they ate so hard oh my god I am OBSESSED. They are incredible, no joke. I had the best time.”
SB19 also posted a group photo with Sophia on their official Facebook page, writing: “Thanks for coming to our LA show, Sophia.”
This wasn’t the first time the two acts crossed paths. Sophia previously met SB19 when KATSEYE visited the Philippines for their fan showcase in 2024. During the visit, Sophia and fellow members joined SB19 for a dance challenge to KATSEYE’s debut single ‘Touch,’ and even gifted the group with signed albums.
Sophia, who rose to fame as a finalist on HYBE and Geffen’s The Debut: Dream Academy, has been a vocal fan of SB19 since her pre-debut days. She and fellow member Yoonchae previously went viral for dancing to SB19’s hit ‘Gento.’
Meanwhile, SB19 is in the thick of their North American tour, with upcoming shows in Canada, California, Hawaii, Singapore, and Hong Kong. Sophia, on the other hand, is celebrating the release of KATSEYE’s second single ‘Gabriela,’ which Stell even sang a few lines from on stage—further teasing fans with the dream of a future SB19 x KATSEYE collaboration.
