GMA Network’s long-running news magazine show ‘Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho’ (KMJS) has issued a public apology following backlash over a retweet from its official X (formerly Twitter) account that appeared to promote hate against Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition housemates AZ Martinez and River Joseph—collectively known by fans as the “AzVer” duo.

The now-deleted retweet was posted around 1:40 AM on June 29 and featured content suggesting the eviction of one of the Big Four duos, which many fans interpreted as a clear jab at AzVer. Supporters of the tandem were quick to call out the post, flooding social media with demands for accountability.
KMJS addressed the controversy in a statement posted to their official X account: “Around 1:40 AM on June 29, we were made aware of a retweet from our program account that appeared to endorse the eviction of one of the Big Four duos from the Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition.
“We understand the frustration this has caused and are currently investigating those who had access to the account at the time.
“We sincerely apologize to those who felt disappointed or upset.
“There was no intention to show bias or favoritism. We’re taking this matter seriously and are reviewing our internal processes to ensure it doesn’t happen again.”
While ‘KMJS’ did not specify who was behind the retweet or if any disciplinary actions would be taken, their acknowledgment of the incident sparked mixed reactions online.
Supporters of AzVer emphasized that all housemates, regardless of fanbase size, deserve fair treatment, with one viewer stating, “Araw-araw po ako nanonood ng KMJS kaya medyo nadismaya lang po ako. Salamat sa statement nyo.”
‘KMJS’, known for its journalistic credibility and wide reach, is now under pressure to ensure that internal controls are strengthened to prevent future incidents. As of this writing, no further comments have been issued by the production team or host Jessica Soho.
