After a year of legal disputes, Megastar Sharon Cuneta and Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan have officially withdrawn the cyber libel complaints they filed against veteran entertainment columnist and host Cristy Fermin.

The reconciliation took place during a court appearance on July 8, 2025, where all parties agreed to settle the matter. Talent manager and broadcaster Ogie Diaz shared the news on Facebook, posting a photo of Sharon, Sen. Kiko, and Cristy smiling together — even noting that the senator himself took the group selfie.
“Nakakatuwa.
In her statement, Cristy Fermin expressed sincerity in asking for forgiveness: “Kung nakapanakit tayo ng kalooban, marunong naman tayong humingi ng tawad.”
The legal rift began on May 10, 2024, when Sharon and Sen. Kiko filed five cyber libel complaints against Cristy Fermin, along with her co-hosts Romel Chika and Wendell Alvarez, over statements they believed were defamatory and below the belt.
In a June 28 episode of her online show, Cristy publicly apologized to Sharon, saying: “Humihingi ako ng paumanhin kung nasaktan kita du’n sa mga sinabi ko…
The resolution of the issue has been warmly welcomed by many fans and supporters, who praised both sides for choosing humility, dialogue, and forgiveness over prolonged litigation.
Ogie Diaz summed it up best with his closing note: “Thank you, Sen. Kiko Pangilinan and Mareng Mega.”
