Directed by Hans Petter Moland, Cold Pursuit is a remake of the critically acclaimed original Norwegian film, In Order of Disappearance, also directed by Moland. While the film is about a journey of revenge, it also delivers a surprisingly dark humor that audiences won’t help but chuckle at.
In an exclusive interview with CineMagna, Liam Neeson revealed what he thinks truly sets Cold Pursuit apart from typical revenge thrillers: “What makes this project unique is, yes, it’s a revenge drama, but… the bad guys you meet are not just one-dimensional characters. You kind of get involved in all their lives. You kind of care for them in a strange, warped way, even though they do atrocious acts of violence. But they’re just very richly drawn, and they’ve got a great sense of humor, dark and sort of bleak, but it’s humor nonetheless. And [Nels] is a total amateur, just caught up in this vortex of crime and criminology he never knew existed in this strange and quaint ski town.”
