With just days left before they walk down the aisle, EA Guzman and Shaira Diaz admitted they’re feeling both excitement and a little pressure as their wedding day draws near.
“Actually, nape-pressure kami kasi habang papalapit ‘yung big day para sa amin, hindi naman maiiwasan ‘yung may bigla na lang sumusulpot na ikaka-stress namin,” Guzman said during the Despedida de Soltera y Soltero organized for them by the ‘Unang Hirit’ family on Friday, Aug. 8.
“Pero siyempre, hindi namin ‘yun (ang stress) hinahayaan na dumating sa amin para hindi kami ma-pressure,” he added.
Guzman, who has been in a relationship with Diaz for over a decade, expressed his eagerness to finally marry her. “Looking forward, especially ako, ang tagal ko ring hinintay ‘to – 12 years,” he shared.
The ‘Unang Hirit’ hosts surprised the couple with symbolic presents: Arnold Clavio gave them a blanket, Susan Enriquez gifted a pillow, while Anjo Pertierra and Kaloy Tingcungco presented matching pajamas featuring photos of the couple.
Touched by the gesture, Diaz said, “Feeling ko totoong kasal na ang nagaganap.” She added that she was “touched na touched” by the effort of her UH family.
The moment became even more emotional when both their families attended the special episode, along with Diaz’s bridesmaid, Arra San Agustin. Their parents also shared heartfelt messages, bringing both Diaz and Guzman to tears.
The couple is set to tie the knot on August 14 in a church wedding in Silang, Cavite. In September, they will fly to Switzerland for their honeymoon.
Diaz and Guzman have been together since 2012. They got engaged in 2021 but only announced it publicly in early 2024. While they initially planned to marry in 2026, they decided to move the wedding up to this year.
