Filipino singer Sofronio Vasquez, the first Asian to win ‘The Voice USA’, is on the brink of international stardom—thanks to the mentorship and backing of global music legends Michael Bublé, Paul Anka, and David Foster.

Bublé, who coached Sofronio to victory on the show, shared a heartfelt post on Facebook that captured the significance of this new chapter in the young artist’s journey.
“@paulankaofficial and @davidfoster took me under their wings at the very start of my journey… Now, together, we get to do the same for @sofroniovasquez,” Bublé wrote. “This is what music is about. Legacy, love, and lifting each other up.”
Along with the message, Bublé teased Vasquez’s upcoming performance and hinted at the long-term musical collaborations forming behind the scenes.
Vasquez responded with deep gratitude to his mentor, calling Bublé both a mentor and a sponsor:
“I’ve knocked on so many doors for so long, just hoping for a shot at my dreams,” Vasquez wrote. “Thank you for being both a mentor and a sponsor. Mentors help you become better, but sponsors open doors for you. We need both, and I’m lucky to have found both in you. My heart is overflowing with gratitude.”

Vasquez also recently posted a photo with Bublé, Anka, Foster, and producer Jorge Vivo, taken inside a recording studio, confirming a highly anticipated music project. “I can’t wait for all of you to hear the music we made. Coming soon!” he captioned the photo.
Adding to the excitement, Vasquez revealed that his upcoming EP—produced by Bublé—will feature a Christmas duet, an English-Filipino track, and original works with Foster and Anka.
“For some time, I thought something like this would only be possible in a dream. And here I am with them,” Vasquez shared.
Bublé echoed the sentiment, reposting Vasquez’s update on Instagram with a simple but powerful message: “Let’s go Sofronio.”
Vasquez first gained recognition as a ‘Tawag ng Tanghalan’ semifinalist on ‘It’s Showtime’ before joining ‘The Voice USA’ in 2024. In December 2024, he made history as the first Asian champion of the American franchise, earning widespread acclaim and support.
Now, under the wing of three of the biggest names in music, Vasquez is poised to bring his soulful voice and heartfelt artistry to a global audience.
As he put it: “Of course, with Michael Bublé’s idea, he knows who are the perfect people to be connected to and to be talking to… I have a really good vision about my music so I’m so excited to be working on that.”
A dream realized, and a legacy in the making.
