Award-winning actress Jean Garcia recently paid a visit to the showroom of Maddox Jewelry in Marikina City, where she expressed admiration for the craftsmanship and expertise of its founder and president, Charo Cordial.
During her visit, Garcia was visibly impressed by Cordial’s knowledge of jewelry, particularly in identifying authentic pieces. One notable moment came when the actress brought an amethyst stone for assessment.

Cordial quickly pointed out that the gemstone appeared to be non-authentic upon initial inspection—an observation that amused Garcia, who said the item still holds sentimental value as a gift and display piece.
Cordial shared that her journey into the jewelry business began during the COVID-19 pandemic, when she discovered her knack for online selling. What started as an unexpected pivot eventually grew into a thriving venture.
Today, Maddox Jewelry has gained recognition for offering what it claims to be some of the most affordable diamonds in the country, while maintaining authenticity and quality.
Garcia also reflected on how the pandemic led her to uncover new creative pursuits. While she has long been known for her acting career, she revealed that she developed an interest in painting and crochet during lockdown.
The visit turned into an engaging exchange of personal stories, highlighting how both women discovered new talents during challenging times.
Despite her appreciation for fine jewelry, Garcia admitted she rarely shops at jewelry stores—even when traveling abroad.
She explained that her hesitation stems from being “burara,” or prone to misplacing items, making her cautious about owning expensive pieces.
Still, she enjoyed browsing the showroom and eventually picked out earrings as gifts for her grandchildren, repeatedly praising the affordability and legitimacy of the products.

When asked about her current aspirations, Garcia shared a surprising goal beyond her already accomplished career.
“Siguro ang pangarap ko na lang ngayon, maging international actress. Pwede yung may pelikula ako sa Korea… baka naman kailangan nila ng Pinoy, eh di ako na lang ang kunin pa-experience lang,” she said.
Before wrapping up her visit, Garcia also revealed lesser-known facets of her background, including her experience as a former host of ‘GMA Supershow’ and her beginnings in ‘That’s Entertainment’.
Located at AZDM Building along J.P. Rizal Street in Marikina City, Maddox Jewelry continues to position itself as a brand that prioritizes trust and accessibility.
