Award-winning actor Romnick Sarmenta has clapped back at a few bashers who tried to downplay him on social media, reminding them that he won’t shed tears over their comments.

In a post on X last Saturday, August 16, Sarmenta shared his thoughts on netizens who dismissed him as irrelevant and not worth paying attention to.
“Sabi nung isa, wag kasi nating pansinin, sino ba yan? Pero mga apat na beses nag comment,” the veteran actor wrote.
“Check ko profile… Ayun dalawa followers, anime pa yung isa. Hay may tatlong di pumansin sa akin. Iyak na ba ako? Hindi. May bayad yun eh.”
While Sarmenta did not drop any names, many online speculated that the actor’s remarks were directed at DDS supporters (staunch followers of former President Rodrigo Duterte).
Recently, Sarmenta’s name resurfaced after he openly expressed support for Vice Ganda amid calls by Duterte supporters to boycott the fast-food chain endorsed by the ‘Unkabogable Star.’
Instead of joining the boycott, Sarmenta revealed that he even ordered food from the same fast-food brand—despite not being hungry—signaling his solidarity with Vice.
Beyond the issue, Sarmenta is also known as one of the few celebrities unafraid to voice his views on pressing political matters. He has recently criticized some public officials and politicians whom he accused of twisting the law for their own interests.
Through it all, Sarmenta made it clear that he isn’t fazed by bashers and remains firm in standing by his principles.
