A strong turnout of celebrities, filmmakers, and media marked the successful launch of BLVCK BOX, a new streaming platform introduced by engineers and producers Louie Cristobal and Grace Cristobal, held last Saturday at a mall in Quezon City.
The event gathered a mix of entertainment personalities, including veteran actors Rez Cortez and Archie Adamos, as well as performers like the rap trio Crazy as Pinoy—composed of Bassilyo, Crispin, and Sisa—who performed their hit track ‘Panaginip.’ Also spotted were social media personality Baby Giant and several content creators and filmmakers.
At the core of the launch is BLVCK BOX’s mission to democratize access to Filipino content while empowering creators to monetize their work directly.
“BLVCK BOX was created with a simple but powerful idea, to make Filipino films and digital content accessible to everyone—no barriers, no subscriptions, just meaningful stories available at your fingertips,” said Grace Cristobal during her speech.
She also highlighted the platform’s creator-driven model, where users can upload content and set their own pricing.
“You can upload your content easily… Ikaw din magsi-set ng price kung magkano gusto mo. Dyan mo malalaman pwede mong kitain. Unlike other platforms na sila nagsasabi magkano kita mo. Lahat tayo dito producers,” she explained.
Louie Cristobal, described as the “brilliant mind” behind the platform, further elaborated on how filmmakers and content producers can distribute their work through BLVCK BOX.
The app positions itself as an all-in-one digital hub, offering films, vertical short-form content, podcasts, and music videos, while also integrating e-commerce features that allow users to earn as affiliates.
One of the highlights of the launch was the screening of ‘Pluma’, a short film starring Mark Herras and Victor Silayan, directed by Andrei Bagos.
Encouraging aspiring creators, Grace emphasized persistence in content production despite uncertainties in audience reception.
“Huwag tayo paghinaan ng loob sa paggawa ng content kasi iniisip mo baka wala manuod. Pero ngayon hindi natin alam kung anong papatok, kaya gawa lang ng content,” she said.
