Another victory for the queen! From the main stage of Drag Race Philippines to the silver screen, Precious Paula Nicole continues to shine brighter than ever. The Season 1 winner has just made herstory as the first Filipino drag queen to win an international acting award, after being named Best Lead Performance at the 2025 Cine Pride Film Festival.
Precious earned the honor for her moving portrayal of Sampaguita in the short film Lip Sync Assassin, a role that revealed her depth, vulnerability, and undeniable artistry. The film’s director, Jon Galvez, also clinched the Best Director award, marking a double triumph for Filipino creativity on the global stage.
For Precious, this milestone is deeply personal. “Growing up in the province, it took me almost 20 years just to stand here today. I dedicate this award to every gay kid, every boy, every girl who may not have access to opportunities but continue to hold on to their dreams. This is also for my mom and my family, who have always believed in me,” she shared.
More than a win, this recognition highlights how drag is far beyond makeup, wigs, and nails. Drag is an art form that tells stories, sparks empathy, and breaks barriers. “This award is for every Filipino drag artist who dreams bigger than the stage. Walang limitasyon ang drag” Precious added.
With this victory, Precious Paula Nicole signifies her place not only as a drag icon but also as a trailblazer in the Philippine film industry.
